City Living Room

We started this room by the sofa and chair fabrics and from there choose the colors that would in turn be taken through the entire first floor. It was a small space but was meant to have a great presence for entertainment, being that it is directly off the houses newly designed kitchen. The seating arrangement allows for at least 7 people with room to bring more chairs from the dining space into the living area for extra seating.

I love the warm colors of this room and am grateful for the fact that my client went for the giraffe inspired rug! I think this rug makes all the difference, taking this room from typical to awesomely different!

Next Door Neighbors Trash

Being laid off has presented many opportunities to me, the ideas of what I should do with the rest of my life are endless, I feel as though many a door has opened.

I come from a family of trash pickers, not going to lie here... if we see something worth while in someones trash we make it our treasure. So my next door neighbor threw out this old wooden desk chair a couple of months ago and i decided to throw it in the trunk of my car to see what I could make of it, to then sell it. Well my only problem is finishing things... so I got as far as painting it and now I'm at the cross road of how to make it great and desirable. Tomorrow it is going to be my goal to finish this project of mine and actually post it on craigslist.

Here's why I think it would work great in any room once I doctor it up...

1. its got character first and for most
2. its original (no one has a student desk in their house)
3. its functional, weather its extra seating for company or a place to sit and jot down a couple of things
4. it has storage for under the seat for those magazines that tend to pile up
5. after I'm done with it its going to be bad ass and famous!
